Selecting a Survey Research Design

Paper , Order, or Assignment Requirements

Survey research designs provide an organizing framework for survey research studies. Selection of a specific survey design needs to match not only the goals of a study, but the characteristics of the population as well. Survey designs also must be empirically justified. When researchers introduce a particular survey design, part of the empirical justification includes citing studies that have used similar designs, ideally with great success.
You should be working on a literature review on the topic you plan to use for your Research Proposal in preparation for this week’s Application Assignment. A significant part of the literature review chapter in any dissertation includes a full review of your chosen research design, as well as a comparison of your design with other designs. For example, you might justify why you are using a cross-sectional approach as opposed to a longitudinal approach. As such, you are required to practice this skill this week by selecting and justifying a research design for your Research Proposal.
To prepare for this Discussion, consider which survey research design would be most appropriate for addressing your problem and research question(s). This design optimally should address your research problem and be appropriate for your population. Additionally, consider how you would justify your choice of design by explaining why it is most appropriate compared to 23 other research designs.
With these thoughts in mind:

Explain which survey research design is most appropriate for addressing your problem and research question(s).

Justify your choice of design by explaining why it is most appropriate compared to other designs.
